On this site, you will find the different subjects where we devote our time to teaching. From technical design skills at the Undergraduate level, the advanced topics we cover at the Master’s and Ph.D. level, and finally the different lectures and workshops we are often invited to impart throughout the globe, it is possible to get a glimpse of our way to teach. Design education is the place where we give all our know-how, research interests, and passion to those who are ready to advance in the design field towards a better future. Our methods and academic contributions seek to raise the tide of this wonderful discipline we call Design.
Explore the overview we present here and feel free to contact us for any details regarding any subject of your interest.
We cover a broad spectrum of topics related to design. From basic skills to advanced materials knowledge, furniture design, vehicle design, and product design. We put all our knowledge acquired through years of professional and academic life to forge future designers. Although design as a discipline relatively new compared with other fields of knowledge, it constantly evolves. Many theories in design become obsolete, as soon as a society and its behaviors change. We try to maintain the state of the art when it comes to design knowledge.
Undergraduate teaching at The Design Department, Los Andes University.Bogotá – Colombia.
Master’s Level teaching at:
The Design Department, Los Andes University. Bogotá – Colombia.
Design Department, Politecnico di Milano. Milan, Italy.
Master in Product Design, Domus Academy. Milan, Italy.
The master’s studies are at the core of our teaching experience, we began tutoring at the master`s level more than 15 years ago, bringing our knowledge in research-based projects. Through the years we have taught design professionals how to achieve projects with a remarkable level of quality, lower impact on the environment, and amazing product experience. Our constant research on materials for design also provides tools to future designers on how to gain technology independence, meaningful applications, and circularity.
At the Ph.D. level, we have been recently supporting candidates with the relevant research studies in design that are important for the field. Researching design is not something common, as the discipline is more engaged with the project-based approach in the market. Still, for the ones who embark on the more advanced academic skills, is important to provoke critical approaches to the research topics as well to improve dissemination of findings.
Workshops are places where state-of-the-art projects can quickly emerge. We offer a broad portfolio of topics to improve design skills. We are often invited by other Universities and Design schools also to give a glimpse of our research topics on materials for design and materials experience. The core of the workshops we provide aims to promote alternatives to the current social standards. We believe it is always a better way to do things, and designers possess the tools to look where other disciplines will never see.
As researchers in the field of design, it is important to keep updated and also to update on what we produce outcomes. Since we collaborate with other disciplines in a multi-disciplinary project setup, is always good to share our results and construct with other researchers of the world. We also give lectures related to our research to our community and colleagues as an exchange of knowledge in design.
Addressed to people who wants to follow a design pathway, but are not entirely sure of the advantages and opportunities the creative field can offer in different levels.
